INCIGHT Scholarship Program
Since 2004, INCIGHT has awarded 1,062+ scholarships based on community involvement and motivation, not financial need. Our scholars are not just recipients; they are leaders who contribute service back to the movement.
INCIGHT scholars are enrolled in community colleges, universities, vocational schools and graduate programs across the West Coast. Each year, roughly 1,000 students apply for around 35 awards — and scholars stay involved long after graduation, volunteering, supporting and leading within INCIGHT.
More than the award, scholars join a community — people who keep each other from tunnel vision and open up life beyond academics.
Eligibility
Open to current Oregon, Washington and California residents with a disability of any type as defined by the ADA, DSM-V, IDEA or other governing body, attending higher education in the funding cycle after application — any institution, any degree level.
How It Works
Apply online in spring (the 2026–27 application closed April 15, 2026); recipients are notified in June. Funding is disbursed half in Fall and half in Winter, sent directly to your school.
The Award
Merit-based, never need-based: community involvement and motivation are what count, and grades are considered but not deciding. Awards typically start at $500 and increase for scholars who reapply.
The Scholar Community
Scholars complete 30 hours of community service or volunteer at an INCIGHT event — and join a community that includes UC Berkeley student senator Jada Yang, designer Margaret Drew and entrepreneur JD Duran.
